The official John Lewis advert is due to be released tomorrow, but a singer-songwriter from Keighley in West Yorkshire has gone viral by producing an early alternative.
The five-minute video, by 22-year-old Sam Clegg, tells the story of an elderly man and his beloved Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Bruno. They do everything together, before tragedy strikes.
The video is accompanied by charity single Don’t Let Me Go, which Sam released earlier this month to raise money for charities supporting elderly people this festive season. The single is currently number two on the Amazon Music Chart.
The musician said he was inspired by hometown hero Captain Sir Tom Moore, who was born in Keighley.
The video has been viewed more than 1.7million times on YouTube in the last 10 days and has racked up hundreds of comments from viewers.
