Yorkshire clean tech firms being sought for investment

The Clean Growth Fund is in Yorkshire next month, as it looks for the most exciting clean tech companies in the region.

The £101m UK venture capital fund is on the hunt for early-stage clean and climate tech companies working in power and energy, buildings, transport, industry, agrifood, waste and water.

“With growth, investment, jobs and Net Zero as main priorities for the Labour Government, a vibrant and dynamic clean tech sector can make a valuable contribution,” stated Beverley Gower-Jones, founder and Managing Partner at Clean Growth Fund.

“There are already some great clean tech companies in the North of England and we are on the hunt for the next Steve Jobs or Elon Musk to back.  We are looking to invest in the very best clean-tech companies in the region.  We hope that our event in Leeds will help us to do this, as well as being an opportunity for the region’s wider climate tech community to come together, network and support one another.”

The fund is backed by local authority pension funds, major financial institutions as well as the UK Government. It will invest between £500k and £3m in a company.

Low carbon early-stage innovators with a disruptive technology are being encouraged to attend, meet and pitch to the Fund’s investment team as well as network with local investors, academia, incubators, accelerators, technology transfer officers, local government and cleantech innovation experts.

The event will take place in Leeds next month.
