Is Global Radio about to rebrand its XFM stations as Radio X?
Rumour circulated yesterday that XFM would become Capital Rocks, to align with Global’s Capital branding, but today it appears that Radio X is the chosen name.
The source of the story was gossip site, Popbitch, which also claimed that Richard Bacon or Johnny Vaughan would be presenting the drive-time show. It’s already been announced that Chris Moyles will be hosting the breakfast show.
Popbitch unusually released an update this morning, to say that Capital Rocks had actually been dismissed as a name some time ago, in favour of Radio X.
It added that the relaunch would take place on September 21st, with Vernon Kay taking mid-morning and Ricky Wilson hosting a weekend show.
There was no response from the Global Press office at the time of publication, however, this story will be updated should we get official confirmation – or otherwise.
