Maya Wolfe-Robinson, the assistant editor for Guardian Opinion, is moving to Manchester to join the newspaper’s northern reporting team.
She will work alongside North of England editor Helen Pidd and correspondents Josh Halliday and Nazia Parveen from June.
Wolfe-Robinson had worked with the London-based Opinion team for the last six years.
“Will miss so many colleagues in the London office, and have been very privileged to work with some of the best columnists and writers in the business, commissioned some of my heroes and to have given new writers their first platform,” she tweeted.
The Guardian’s northern news hub was set up at the end of 2015.
