To mark 25 years of Midsomer Murders, ITV has commissioned an hour-long documentary from Leeds’ Wise Owl Films.
Midsomer Murders – 25 Years of Mayhem will examine the fictional county of Midsomer and the numerous crimes and murders that have taken place there since 1997.
It will feature interviews with cast and crew including Neil Dudgeon, John Nettles, Nick Hendrix, Annette Badland, Jeff Povey (Writer 2016-2022) and Ian Strachan (Producer, 1999-2022).
“So much has changed on British television in the last 25 years – but Midsomer Murders has remained a constant throughout,” said Wise Owl Executive Producer, Mark Robinson.
“It’s testament to the high regard the viewers have for this series – a television institution with enduring appeal and a loyal fan base who love its eccentric take on the classic whodunnit. It’s been a privilege to hear about its journey from those who have brought it to our screens”.
The documentary will go behind the scenes during series 23 and feature a Midsomer Coach Tour, looking back at some of its key locations.
Midsomer Murders is based on Caroline Graham’s Chief Inspector Barnaby Books and has since been sold internationally to more than 200 countries.
