Hollywood megastar Will Smith is heading to the UK for a brand-new music tour! And in a move no one saw coming, the Men in Black hitmaker is set to perform not in Miami, but in our very own seaside paradise of Scarborough.
The Oscar-winning actor (and occasional headline-maker) is celebrating his first new album in 20 years, Based on a True Story, with a string of UK shows, including stops in Manchester, London, and Cardiff.
But the biggest surprise? The tour kicks off at Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Sunday, August 24.
Peter Taylor, of Cuffe and Taylor, promoters of the summer series at Scarborough OAT, said: “Will Smith is a global icon and incredible live performer. We are absolutely delighted Will is bringing his summer tour to the iconic Scarborough Open Air Theatre.
“This is a real coup for the Yorkshire coast and we would recommend fans to not delay in securing their tickets for what will undoubtedly be an incredible night.”
Famous for 90s classics like Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It and Summertime, Will first teased his musical comeback with a Las Vegas gig. Now, he’s bringing the party across the pond.
Tickets are expected to be in high demand, so if you want to see the Fresh Prince live at the seaside, you’d better move fast.
