What Media to bring the best of Manchester culture to New York

The What Media team

Manchester’s What Media has won the contract to showcase its home city at New York’s International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA) Congress in January 2023.

What Media, a video specialist whose high-profile clients include Cottages.com, Uber and New York-based Capelli Sport, will be producing a video highlighting Manchester’s cultural offering for attendees at the prestigious event.

What Media MD Chris Townsend said: “We’re honoured to have won the contract from stakeholders including HOME and Marketing Manchester to create a showcase video for the International Society for the Performing Arts Congress in New York in January 2023. The video will be used by Manchester delegates to promote Manchester as an exciting and vibrant city to visit, focusing particularly on its cultural offering.”

The video’s success is particularly vital as the next ISPA Congress will be in Manchester in June 2023, and Townsend insists his team are well-placed to show the city’s best side having last year worked closely with Marketing Manchester to bring people back to the city post-lockdown (https://www.prolificnorth.co.uk/news/creative-agency-news/2021/09/marketing-manchester-leads-digital-creative-campaign-encourage) He added: “We’re delighted to secure the contract as we’re based in Manchester and most of our staff have strong links with the city.”

The project also builds on the work What Media did in producing some 115 pieces of content for the international audience at the recent UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, better known as Cop26.
