Bauer Media Audio has announced that from September, West FM, will be rebranded as Clyde 1 Ayrshire.
The move will also mean the departure of Breakfast Show duo, Ali Wright and Michael Smith, with the station instead broadcasting the full Clyde 1 output, including Bowie at Breakfast.
“We already know how popular Clyde 1 is across Ayrshire, whether it be calls into GBX or Superscoreboard, competition entries or shout outs, we always get such fantastic responses and interactions from listeners across the region. With Clyde 1’s 50th birthday this year, and more listeners tuning in to celebrate with us, it felt like the perfect time to launch Clyde 1 across Ayrshire,” explained Bauer Media Audio Content Director for Scotland and Northern Ireland, Victoria Easton-Riley.
“With Bowie at Breakfast taking over from Ali and Michael in the morning I want to take this opportunity to thank them both for their great work on that show.”
The changes take place on 16th September.
Clyde 1 Ayrshire will retain local news, travel, weather and continue to work closely with local businesses. Bauer Media Audio said that it would also continue to support local vulnerable and disadvantaged children through Cash for Kids
