Andy Poole, deputy managing partner of Weber Shandwick’s Manchester office, is to join Citypress.
Poole, who has been at the agency for eight years, is joining Citypress as a director.
He previously worked for Liverpool agency Paver Smith.
Weber Shandwick Manchester chairman Jon McLeod said: “Andy has been a great servant of the company and we wish him well.”
Meanwhile, Manchester-based Citypress has made a senior appointment in its Midlands office.
It’s hired Kate Macnamara as associate director and co-head of its Birmingham operation.
Macnamara joins from Goodyear Dunlop, where she was the UK & Ireland communications manager, and is a former PR director and head of Grayling Midlands, where she advised clients including Jaguar Land Rover, Deloitte and Business Birmingham.
Martin Currie, managing director at Citypress, said: “Kate has an ideal mix of integrated communications experience, very relevant sector and regional expertise, as well as that rare vantage point of seeing PR from both agency and client-side. Her appointment will strengthen our leadership team at a time of significant growth for the agency and add value to clients across our network.”
Macnamara said: “Citypress is seeing strong demand for professional communications support from companies and brands in the Midlands. The region is performing well in terms of attracting inward investment and its manufacturing and export sectors are growing. I’m looking forward to helping to build the agency’s presence in the region and work with colleagues across the UK on national campaigns.”
The appointment follows Citypress Birmingham’s move to a new larger office on Newhall Street last year.
Citypress has over 70 consultants working across its offices in Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh and London.
