North West ‘co-foundery’, We Are Nova, has attracted more than £1 million for 11 seed-stage businesses in its latest funding round.
The Liverpool and Manchester-based firm matches venture capitalist investment to entrepreneurs wanting to start digital and health start-ups.
We Are Nova also mentors entrepreneurs, preparing them for their first investment pitches. Once funding is achieved, they match the investment to co-found the businesses.
CEO Andy Davidson (above) said: “Q1 saw our most successful funding round in the organisation’s history and we are immensely proud of the founders we will be working with in the upcoming months. Their passion and determination is exemplary and we are looking forward to future successes.”
Nova, which has a 170-strong team, also act as technical co-founders and business advisors. The team has backed more than 30 successful start-ups over the last eight years, including Door Funds, Sentric Music and Lucid Games.
The entrepreneurs will now be supported by Startup Consultant led teams as they focus on achieving ‘problem-solution fit’. This is where the solution will be tested and refined. We Are Nova’s aim is to get businesses from concept stage to a product with traction in the market in twelve months or less.
