Manchester-based business services provider Verastar has appointed a new Chief Operating Officer to oversee customer experience and the growth of its kinex and Clear Business brands.
James Mitton, 43, joins from Shop Direct, where he was Customer Service Director for almost four years after originally joining in April 2010.
Verastar delivers essential services, including energy, water, telecoms and broadband to small and medium-sized businesses across the UK.
Mitton said: “I’m delighted to be joining Verastar – and the sector – at such an interesting time. I believe that growth for Verastar will come through a strong focus on its people and its customers.
“I’ve been privileged to be part of some great teams during my career, where positive transformation and growth has come through engaged people who in turn create really engaged customers.
“I’m looking forward to doing that here – driving the right culture, processes and tech investments to improve the customer journey and support a significant increase in the size of the company.
“I’ve been impressed by the company and its brands from their breadth of services and agility, to their ability to react so quickly to market forces and the unique, one-billing proposition.
“It’s also a fascinating time to join the sector, with increasing deregulation and more competition, refining the customer journey is really important.”
Verastar CEO Chris Earle added: “We’re very proud to have James on our team. His skills and experience are integral to Verastar’s ambitious plans as we strive to be at the forefront of development in the SME utility and business service sector, enabling us to provide an outstanding and unique product offer supported by service excellence.”
