The UKAEG is also launching the free-to-attend UK House, part of the ‘GREAT’ brand marketing campaign, following recent success at SXSW. An online venue which will open and run networking and lead generation events for six months starting from July 8th, UK House will celebrate the very best of UK creativity recognised at Cannes Lions.
The event will be headlined by UK winners from this year’s Festival and feature British companies with something to offer global buyers in attendance.
The UK’s ad sector is forecast to see the fastest growth of any market worldwide post-recovery. Ad spend is expected to grow 15.2% this year to £27 billion – and the contribution of the North of England itself will be revealed in Global Reach, which builds on research conducted in 2013.
The previous Global Reach report looked at the same sectors and found 250 global companies, employing over 18,000, in the North of England. In the meantime the region has seen huge and enviable growth across these industries, which the 2021 report is set to record.
Conducted in association with the School of Digital Arts, it will be accompanied by a range of launch events and a dedicated summit, hosted in Manchester, featuring a range of expert guest speakers.
In association with a range of supporting organisations that promote the global interests of the creative and digital sectors – including UKAEG – the report will focus on companies with a presence in the North and an overseas operation, or those owned by companies with operations outside of the UK.

Aisling Conlon, Marketing Manager at UKAEG, said: “UK advertising has a pre-eminent reputation for creative excellence that is sought after the world over and we are delighted to support Prolific North in its drive to put the North into a global context.
“At UKAEG we are supporting the global growth of the wider advertising sector across the UK by providing more British businesses than ever with access to the Oscars of our industry – The Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity. The programme of events UKAEG has planned alongside Cannes Lions Live, will showcase UK advertising and creativity to existing and potential clients across the globe and I urge export-oriented businesses to get involved.”
