UK festivals under the spotlight in Skiddle’s most detailed data analysis to date

Lancashire-based Skiddle, the UK’s leading independent event ticketing platform, has today released its most comprehensive Festival Report to date.

Produced in partnership with the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF), the report analyses key trends, insights and behaviours from the 2024 season, offering festival organisers actionable data to help maximise success in 2025.

Drawing on platform data and third-party studies, the report explores shifts in consumer behaviour, the rising popularity of experience-led and wellness-focused events, the impact of early festival launches, and the growing demand for flexible payment options.

It also spotlights case studies like Reggae Land and Pavilion Festival, highlighting how independent festivals are adapting and thriving despite industry-wide challenges.

With over 1.8 million festival tickets sold via Skiddle in 2024 and a 48% increase in split payment usage, the findings point to a resilient market shaped by evolving customer expectations and economic pressure. As noted in the report, 47% of attendees bought tickets to at least two festivals in 2024, while 10% attended four or more.

Duncan King, head of festivals and partnerships at Skiddle, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to share our latest festival ticketing report, created in collaboration with John and the fantastic team at the AIF. At Skiddle, we’re always working to deliver greater value to the festival community, and reports like this are vital—offering invaluable insights into what’s working, what’s not, and where there’s room to grow.”

The Festival Report also outlines how Skiddle assists festival organisers through a combination of free self-service tools, platform integrations, and dedicated customer and account support that improve accessibility and drive sales.
