In an audacious display to capture the nation’s attention, striking at the heart of the capital, Yorkshire agency Über and Sunderland gaming brand tombola transformed the iconic Big Ben clock tower with a stunning CGI takeover for their “A Bingo Winner Every 5 Seconds” campaign.
The video is just one element of the campaign being used to celebrate National Bingo Day on the 27th June by Britain’s biggest bingo site.
Über orchestrated the take over, showcasing Big Ben’s famous clock face covered in tombola’s signature teal. Every five seconds, the face lights up with a triumphant “WIN” announcement, synchronised perfectly with the deep chime of Big Ben’s bell ringing out at five-second intervals. The unmissable part of the takeover is a massive banner draped down the Elizabeth Tower, boldly proclaiming: “A Bingo Winner Every 5 Seconds.”
The larger than life statement “not only turns heads but also underscores the excitement and frequency of winning with tombola, where £7 million is won every week.”
Über collaborated with Rae and Eve productions and One Bright Dot studios for the CGI stunt, with several versions of the video circulating, capturing the essence of the event.
This 20-second viral film is just one element of tombola’s comprehensive through-the-line campaign, conceptualised and brought to life by Über. The campaign encompasses a variety of media channels, including TV, digital out of home, and engaging online content, all aimed at conveying the message that with tombola, there’s “A bingo winner every 5 seconds.”
Emma Luke, campaign manager at tombola, said: “There’s a bingo winner at tombola every 5 seconds – how amazing is that? June 27th is National Bingo Day, so what better way to shout about our huge volume of bingo winners than taking over this iconic landmark?”
Greg Clark MD at Über, added: “Our goal was to create something visually arresting, memorable and fun that communicates the excitement of tombola’s message. The response has been phenomenal, it’s always great to see your vision resonate so quickly and so widely.”
tombola’s “A Bingo Winner Every 5 Seconds” campaign is set to continue throughout the summer with more interactive content asking the question: “Could you be next?”
