Former ITV and GB News presenter Rachel Sweeney has announced she is moving into the world of freelance broadcasting with her own media company Rachel Sweeney Media Limited.
Rachel, who has also been working with Newcastle comms agency Gardiner Richardson on the launch, announced the news on Twitter.

Sweeney spent over 15 years at ITV Tyne Tees as early morning presenter, and has more recently worked as North East correspondent for GB News, the first regional correspondent appointed by the fledgling news channel when it launched in 2021. She has also served as an assistant producer on Steph’s Packed Lunch for Channel 4.
Sweeney is from a North East mining family and went to Framwellgate School in Durham. Her Mother is comedienne and radio presenter Sue Sweeney and her father, Ian Sweeney, is a former footballer.
