True North has produced a festive documentary for Channel 4.
Lighting Up Christmas will feature 5 festive illuminations from Blackpool to Kew Gardens.
The documentary team will go behind the scenes to find out how lighting companies go about major installations at attractions around the country.
In Blackpool, they’ll find out how a local factory makes all the town’s lights, as well as those for the surrounding towns, Chorley, Morecambe and Lytham.
This year Longleat has created a Roald Dahl special, which will be switched on by Lord and Lady Bath. Cameras will record how they install a James and Giant Peach display in a hippo enclosure.
At Kew Gardens, the installations are designed by artists across the country, while Chessington Theme Park’s small in-house team club together to pull together the display themselves.
Finally Leeds and Manchester-based True North will film at John Lewis’ stores in Oxford Street and Sloane Scare.
A transmission date has yet to be released.
