True North has been commissioned to produce a new walking series for More4 to be fronted by former Strictly Come Dancing judge Dame Darcey Bussell.
Darcey Bussell’s Coastal Walks (4x60min) will see the retired ballerina swap her pointe shoes for walking boots and take on four routes on the England Coast Path, which will be completed next summer.
In each episode, Bussell – who left Strictly Come Dancing last year – will walk a favourite section of the path and meet those who make living by the sea.
The series was commissioned by Sean Doyle, Deputy Head of Features and Formats at Channel 4.
True North, whose other series have include A New Life in the Sun for Channel 4 and Junior Vets/Ultimate Vets for CBBC, was acquired by Sky in 2017. Channel 4 had previously taken a minority stake in the company in 2014.
