Tributes have been paid to iconic Yorkshire broadcaster Dave Callaghan, who has died aged 63 after a heart attack.
Callaghan, who worked for BBC Radio Leeds and Look North, was taken ill on Friday and died on Monday night.
He’d worked in sports journalism for over 45 years, working as sports editor at BBC Radio Leeds and as a commentator for Leeds United.
Yorkshire County Cricket Club said he was a “much loved-personality” and “held in the highest regard”.
And former England captain Michael Vaughan tweeted that “we have lost one of life’s great men.”
We have lost one of life’s great men .. @CallyCricket really was a wonderful person .. So enthusiastic and kind in so many ways .. Cricket is going to miss a great broadcaster and friend and @YorkshireCCC have lost there No1 fan .. #RIPCally
