GigPig, the UK’s largest live music digital marketplace, has appointed strategic marketing communications agency MC2 to deliver a new brand identity that will help expand its reach within the hospitality and live music industries.
Founded in 2022, GigPig has rapidly established itself as a disruptive force in its sector, providing a platform that connects venues with grassroots artists directly. From pubs and restaurants to bars and other live music spots, the platform enables venues to discover and seamlessly book musicians, bands, DJs, drag performers, and other entertainers — in a cost-effective way and without the need for a traditional music booker.
To date, the Manchester-headquartered company has signed up more than 2,000 venues and 11,000 artists across 22 cities nationwide, creating gigs worth over £10 million in 2024. It has already facilitated over 50,000 gigs, and is poised for further growth.
As part of its ambitious plans, GigPig has partnered with MC2 to refine its brand and enhance its digital presence, driving venue sign-ups through a new website and strategic marketing initiatives.
With a belief that every venue can be a stage, GigPig is dedicated to enhancing the live music ecosystem by making it easier for artists and venues to collaborate. It counts the likes of Diecast, Katie O’Briens, Albert’s Schloss, Brewdog and Laine Pub Co as customers.
Michael Forster, CEO of GigPig, said: “As we continue to scale, we needed a partner who understood our vision and had the expertise to help us reach more venues and artists across the globe. MC2 brings a deep understanding of high-growth businesses and a proven track record in strategic marketing. Their ability to translate our ambition into a powerful brand and digital strategy made them the perfect partner to support us in our next phase of expansion.”
Lucy Giles, director at MC2, added: “GigPig is shaking up the live music industry with its disruptive and ambitious approach, supported by a seamless technology platform. It’s an exciting high-growth brand that’s redefining how venues and artists connect. We’re inspired to work alongside such a passionate team as they continue to evolve the live music industry and support much needed growth in the hospitality sector.”
