Timeline Television North at MediaCityUK has become a certified Aframe upload partner, which means it can securely upload large amounts of media to the Cloud network at full resolution.
Post production director, Eben Clancy explained that it means production teams can now browse, log, sub-clip, organise and download the rushes from wherever they are.
“We use a number of different cloud media storage services but they’re limited in capacity and functionality. With Aframe, we can quickly transfer rushes to London, while providing a secure back-up and allowing the rushes to be viewed and logged, this ticks a lot of boxes for us.”
Once uploaded to the cloud, Aframe generates a low-resolution H.264 proxy, to help with downloads and browsing. When a researcher or producer adds metadata to the clip, this is transferred along with the video to the edit suite, to speed up the editing process.
Aframe has offices in London, Durham and Boston in North America. Specialising in cloud-based video asset management, it’s used by BBC, MTV and the Press Association.
