TikTok signs shirt deal with North West club

TikTok has signed a 2 year shirt sponsorship deal with Wrexham A.F.C.

While the entertainment platform has recently moved into football, as an official sponsor of Euro 2020, this is its first ever shirt contract.

The fact that the club was taken over by Hollywood stars, Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds last year, is no coincidence.

“TikTok is uniquely positioned at the centre of entertainment, technology, and the creator community to help bring Wrexham A.F.C.’s story to life to global audiences,” stated Nick Tran, Global Head of Marketing at TikTok.

“With the growth of soccer clubs, players and trends on TikTok, joining Rob and Ryan in returning Wrexham A.F.C. to the English Football League was a natural choice for us. We are proud to play a small part in championing the return of Wrexham A.F.C. to the top-flight of soccer and sharing the journey with the town of Wrexham, our community, and fans everywhere, in ways only TikTok can.”

The club has just launched its own official account on the platform, which promises it will be “one of the most innovative in entertainment and soccer, breaking new ground in many areas.”

“We were blown away by the ideas that TikTok had for their partnership with the Club. The opportunity to access the full breadth of their platform creates a community-building opportunity many will envy,” added Humphrey Ker, Executive Director at Wrexham A.F.C.

“Our soon-to-be-launched official TikTok account will feature all those involved at the Club, including both Rob and Ryan. To have TikTok on the front of our shirts is a great coup and we are sure it will be popular among our fanbase, as well as with those who are active on TikTok.”
