The PHA Group to support Shelter’s Winter Appeal

The PHA Group has been appointed by the housing and homeless charity, Shelter, to drive awareness and support of their Winter Appeal to help those facing homelessness this Christmas.

The partnership will drive brand awareness of the charity and support fundraising efforts through an impactful, creative campaign and press office.

Shelter is a registered charity that campaigns for tenant rights, so everyone has a safe home – providing advice, information and advocacy through government lobbying to end the impact of the devastating housing emergency.

Shockingly, 271,000 people in England are homeless, yet there remains a concerning level of disconnection between this crisis and the public. Through its Winter Appeal, Shelter is determined to highlight the heartbreaking number of families wishing for a safe space to call home this Christmas and encourage collective action to donate.

The PHA Group was appointed to affirm Shelter’s position as a trusted charity for information about homelessness and encourage donations to its Winter Appeal over the festive period, with activity including creative campaign activation and amplification, supporting press office through consumer media relations, and influencer engagement.

Claire Whitney, head of supporter acquisition at Shelter, said: “The number of households facing homelessness in England is now the highest on record so we needed to appoint a PR agency to create a campaign that would resonate with a mass awareness and drive action. We were impressed with The PHA Group’s creative strategy and understanding of our mission, and are excited to be working with them to deliver such an important message.”

Suzanne Haysler, director of consumer at The PHA Group, added: “We are passionate about delivering impactful communication that can positively impact others, so are delighted to be working closely with Shelter to deliver their Christmas campaign. Given the severity of the current housing crisis, our goal is to educate and raise awareness of Shelter and its work, while encouraging donations from the public.”
