Wakefield digital PR professional, Lauren Cesi, has used state-of-the-art AI tools, ChatGPT and Midjourney, to provide an imaginative glimpse into how Barbie might look now – aged 64 – as the world awaits theBarbie film launch on July 21,
After discovering Barbie’s birthday, which is on March 9, 1959, Cesi used the information to delve deeper into what Barbie might look like in 2023.
The project utilised the AI chatbot, ChatGPT, to reveal Barbie’s hair colour, height, physique and style preferences. The research also depicted granular details such as Barbie’s choice of shoes and accessories, including earrings and glasses.
According to ChatGPT, Barbie would be 5ft 9”with an athletic physique and a light tan.
Her hair colour is described as “a lovely shade of silver, perhaps combined with light blonde, showcasing the elegance and wisdom that comes with age.”
Her hair would likely be styled in a chic and fashionable way, reflecting her timeless beauty, the AI informs us.
Barbie’s sense of style was described as vibrant and trendy with her wardrobe featuring stylish outfits suitable for various occasions, including tailored trouser suits, flowing summer dresses, and casual looks such as jeans and a fashionable top.
The colours of her clothes would range from pastel hues to bold and vibrant tones, capturing the essence of the latest fashion trends and reflecting Barbie’s embrace of diversity.
Following the deep dive into Barbie’s sixty-something look, the findings were inputted into Midjourney, a generative AI programme which brought the iconic doll to life in spectacular detail and clarity.

This research combines technology and creativity to bring the beloved Barbie character to life.”
