Tangerine promotes inaugural Manchester Film Festival

Tangerine PR has been brought in by The Film Mill to promote the first ever Manchester Film Festival (ManIFF).

As previously reported on Prolific North, the event will take place next month at the AMC cinema in central Manchester.

Tangerine’s role will be to deliver a programme of strategic international and national media engagement as the festival grows.

“We want ManIFF to become a ‘must go to’ annual event in the film making calendar, one which showcases strong and inventive film-making,” explained Neil Jeram-Croft, managing director of The Film Mill and director of operations at ManIFF.

“In order to do this, it’s essential to get it spot on this year so we had to have the right agency partner to help us maximise exposure of all the great films and talent we have at the festival in July.”

The festival will show UK premieres of films including Two Down, executive produced by Stephen Fry and Sir Derek Jacobi and the world premiere of Hisao Kurosawa’s Many Beautiful Things, which features Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey) and John Rhys-Davies (Indiana Jones).

NB: The Manchester Film Festival was previously known as the “Manchester International Film Festival”, however, that is now trademarked by the Kinofilm Festival. Organisers say that the “i” in ManIFF now stands for “independent”
