Whether it’s celebrating ambitious creative work from agencies or brands or recognising memorable stories emerging from the production world, there are a range of exciting categories to enter at this year’s Prolific North Creative Awards.

With an impressive line-up of judges and mentors already announced, it’s an incredible opportunity to showcase your work and be recognised by industry experts at the event hosted on 29th June.

To demonstrate the quality and scale of creativity flowing through the region, these categories have been carefully crafted with input from some of the North’s top creative mavericks from the likes of BBC, Google and ITV.

Marketing, agencies and brands

Making an impact with razor-sharp strategy and remarkable ideas? Then the category for Creative Agency is one for you.

Indie Creative Agency – This category is for independent agencies making a mark on the creative world in the battle against big agencies.

The category for Creative Brand will recognise an ambitious in-house marketing team that can keep their brand relevant in an ever competitive marketplace with exciting creative content.

For Brand Partnership, whether it’s two brands working in unison, an agency-brand partnership or independent creators teaming up with a company, our judges are looking for compelling creative work that has amassed brilliant results. 

Social Content – Your strategic approach to social media content can turn your brand into a household name and your followers into fans. You’ll be able to demonstrate how levels of engagement, social reach and creative flair have led to commercial success. 

Rebrand/Launch/Activation – From creative experiences to bold guerilla marketing, this category will be looking for an engaging activation, rebrand or launch campaign that has captured attention and delivered the results to match.

Advertising Campaign – This category will celebrate a stand-out advertising campaign, regardless of format, that is memorable and innovative.

Creative Courage – In collaboration with McCann Leeds, this category will champion a true moment of courage, through creative work that has the power to challenge and shake-up the norm.

Design 

Effective Design – This category will recognise impactful commercial design for all formats, including but not limited to: data visualisation, graphic and/or motion design. It could be an app, graphic design, OOH/DOOH or even packaging – the judges will be looking at the graphic elements not the UX or UI design. 

Experiential/Immersive Content –  Aimed at innovative immersive digital experiences and/or events that aim to engage, educate or strengthen relationships with your audience. It could include, but is not limited to, VR, AR, installations, voice activated technologies, multi-screen / multi-dimensional experiences, metaverse and virtual worlds. 

Inspired Space – Whether it’s an event or commercial space, this category will recognise spaces with a wow factor to fuel creativity and wellbeing.

Copywriting – From emotionally effective, funny, empathetic, witty, bold or concise, this category will recognise the exceptional copy that often lies at the heart of a successful campaign or media project.

Production and broadcast

Production company  – As the North is a production powerhouse, this category will celebrate the company that is creating striking, memorable content – it could be for a marketing campaign, TV or for the big screen.

Video/TV/Film/Ad – This category is split into short form content under two minutes and long form over two minutes. Whether it’s an ad for a brand on the small or big screen, the judges will look for innovative storytelling, overall art direction and how you approached the creative. 

Audio – As podcasts and audio continue to gain momentum, this category will celebrate a podcast or audio production that has exceeded expectations through sound design, scripting, production and more.

Rising Star Award – Sponsored by Dentsu Creative, you can either nominate yourself or another talented individual for this award, as long as you have under three years’ experience in the industry or be a student. We want to recognise the next generation of creatives and the judges want to know why you deserve the award, and see your passion and skill in creative work.

Creative For Good – To recognise creative problem-solving, solutions or other initiatives that seek to positively impact the world, we want to hear from you if your work has contributed positively towards or good cause or had an important social impact.
