Swizzels debuts Squashies with stop motion campaign

Swizzels is launching its first ever television campaign for its Squashies brand.

The commercial will be the focal point of an integrated campaign to support the national roll-out of a new strawberry & cream flavour.

The stop motion ad features the mascot Mr Swizzels, who takes viewers on a factory tour to reveal how they’re made.

Written and directed by Cheetham Bell, the animation was produced by Beglan Bros, with narration from Dave Lamb (Come Dine with Me).

“We are excited to see Squashies on screen for the first time and feel that the fun, light-hearted animation will resonate well with Squashies’ fans across the nation,” said Sarah-Louise Heslop, Head of Marketing for Swizzels.

“Squashies were invented in 2012 by taking some of our fans’ favourite Swizzels flavours and creating uniquely soft and foamy sweets. Since their creation, Squashies have continued to grow in popularity and Swizzels has responded by adding more fantastic flavours to keep the range exciting and appeal to an even-broader demographic.

“Our TV advert, sponsorship and accompanying social and sampling campaigns are the next step in elevating the Squashies brand even further.”

The campaign will run throughout June with 10 and 30 second adverts.
