The Sun has removed at least one of three stories that Coleen Rooney says she faked, in order to find out the source of a tabloid leak.
Rooney says she spent 5 months investigating who was giving out information from her personal Instagram account. Now she claims that the source was fellow WAG, Rebekah Vardy’s, Instagram account.
Vardy, the wife of Leicester City player and Wayne Rooney’s former England teammate, Jamie Vardy, has denied the allegations.
According to Rooney she started the move after “private posts and stories” were “consistently” being share with The Sun.
To try and prove who the source was, she explained on Twitter:
“I blocked everyone from viewing my Instagram stories except one account […]
“Over the past five months, I have posted a series of false stories to see if they made their way into the Sun newspaper. And you know what, they did! The story about gender selection in Mexico, the story about returning to TV and then the latest story about the basement flooding in my new house.”
She continued:
“Now I know for certain which account / individual it’s come from.
“I have saved and screenshotted [sic] all the original stories which clearly show just one person has viewed them.
“It’s……… Rebekah Vardy’s account.”
