Manchester agency Sugar PR has been appointed by PayByPhone, the world’s most popular parking app, to communicate improvements in its latest upgrade.
The new upgrade is being rolled out across Manchester and allows drivers to pay for their parking session without the need to create an account.
The app was first rolled out in Manchester in 2011 and now gains an average of 5,000 first-time users in the city each month.
PayByPhone is also currently available in 206 on-street locations and 154 car parks in Manchester.
Pete Davies, managing director of Sugar PR in Manchester, said: “We’re delighted to have been appointed to handle this PR campaign for the world’s most popular car parking app. The PayByPhone team has worked closely with its clients in Manchester to ensure that these updates are ready in time for the Christmas increase in traffic to the city and we’re certain businesses and visitors to the city will see the benefits.
“Cashless parking is convenient for drivers and proven to create significant cost savings for councils and car park owners because of the reduced cost of maintaining a traditional ticket machine.”
PayByPhone is one of the fastest growing mobile payments companies in the world, processing more than £253 million in payments annually. It is wholly-owned by Volkswagen Financial Services, part of the largest auto manufacturer in the world.
