Stephen Mulhern returns with more Celebrity Catchphrase

40 years since its debut, ITV has greenlit a new series of Celebrity Catchphrase from STV Studios Entertainment.

The 11th series of the show, which first aired in 1985, will see the return of host Stephen Mulhern and Mr Chips.

“Just when you thought it was safe to enter the living room without your mum, dad, grandparents, kids or pets shouting random catchphrases at the telly… we’re back, baby!” said Mulhern.

“Celebrity Catchphrase is one of those timeless shows that unites all the family and gets everyone playing along together.

“I always have far too much fun hosting it so I’m delighted to be back and can’t wait to hear some of the ridiculous guesses our celebs come up with in series 11 – that’s the best part of the show for sure! See you soon and remember just say what you see!”

STV Studios revived the format in 2013 after a 9 year break, with the first series of Celebrity Catchphrase getting commissioned in 2018.

Since then stars, including Alison Hammond, Jonathan Ross, Joe Lycett and Ruth Jones, have joined Mulhern in the studio.

“We’re delighted to announce a further series of the much loved family favourite, Celebrity Catchphrase. The only show where you say what you see, the hugely popular series continues to win legions of fans and with Stephen’s infectious and playful humour it’s a firm favourite with our viewers,” added Gemma John-Lewis, ITV Commissioner, Entertainment

Celebrity Catchphrase series 11 (10 x 60’) is commissioned by Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment & Daytime Commissioning ITV and Gemma John-Lewis, ITV Entertainment Commissioner for ITV, ITVX, STV and STV Player.

The series is produced by STV Studios Entertainment, with the label’s Creative Director, Gary Chippington, as Executive Producer.
