“Spell-binding” trailer for Domino Day

The BBC has released the first trailer for its new supernatural new drama about modern witches.

Domino Day is set and filmed in Manchester, created by BAFTA-nominee, Lauren Sequeira and produced by Dancing Ledge (The Responder, The Salisbury Poisonings).

Described as an “explosive’ series, it’s about a young witch with extraordinary powers. But Domino (Siena Kelly) is desperately seeking a community who can help her understand who she is, but she doesn’t need to look far, as a coven of witches is already tracking her every move – they’re convinced they have to stop her, before her powers destroy everyone and everything around her.

Starring alongside Kelly are Babirye Bukilwa (We Hunt Together, Neighbors), Poppy Lee Friar (In My Skin, Life And Death In The Warehouse), Alisha Bailey (Call the Midwife, Strike) and Molly Harris (Industry, Monsoon), Sam Howard-Sneyd (Clarity and Chaos, The Children), Percelle Ascott (The Innocents, I Came By), Lucy Cohu (COBRA, Dangerous Liaisons), Christopher Jeffers (Rocketman, Coronation Street), Jonah Rzeskiewicz (Death on the Nile, The Dig) and Maimuna Memon (Sherwood, Lazarus).

The 6×45 minute series has been written by Sequeira, with individual episodes written by Charlene James and Haleema Mirza. It’s directed by Eva Sigurdardottir and Nadira Amrani, with Nick Pitt as series producer and Megan Ott as producer.

It will be available in full on BBC iPlayer from 6am on Wednesday 31 January, with episodes airing weekly on BBC Three from 9pm that night.

Fremantle is handling global distribution for the series.
