Social’s web manager Seb Patrick dies of suspected heart attack

Seb Patrick, a web manager for integrated agency Social, has suddenly passed away.

John Quinton-Barber, founder and CEO of Social, said: “Truly devastating news. Seb was a loyal and valued colleague. We are shocked to the core and thinking especially of his family and friends. Rest in peace Seb.”

Social, who have offices in Manchester, Bristol and London, announced the passing of their ‘dear talented colleague and friend’ on the company’s twitter profile. 

Social tweeted: “Our hearts are broken and grieving for our dear talented colleague and friend @sebpatrick who died suddenly yesterday from a suspected heart attack. Our love, thoughts and support go out to his family. Rest in peace Seb, you will be sorely missed. From all your colleagues. Xx”

Besides being the web Manager at Social, Seb also created a variety of video, audio and written content for the likes of Red Dwarf HQ and Empire. 

He also recently worked on the recent Good News campaign by Social for the National Lottery which featured comedian Joe Wilkinson.

Having had an interest in radio since his time at Oxford University, he was a regular podcaster and co-created the UK’s first Kickstarter-funded sitcom in 2013, the podcast series ‘A Brief History of Time Travel’.

Seb also had a strong interest in Comic Book culture, having featured in a Radio 1 video piece in 2016.

Doug Naylor, Red Dwarf co-creator, also paid tribute to Seb on Twitter, saying: “Devastated to hear the news about Seb. Our thoughts and love are with his family and friends of which there are so many. Smart, funny, kind, articulate, he kept the Red Dwarf website going single-handedly. What a guy. I’ll miss him greatly.”
