Former Liverpool Echo journalist, Ben Turner is to join Social, as the PR agency sets up an office in the city.
He’ll be working alongside his former newspaper “rival” Laura Bell, who was previously at Liverpool Daily Post. She was recruited earlier in the summer to head up the new office.
“Although we were technically rivals we always looked out for each other and luckily she hasn’t held some of the jobs I sent her out on against me. I’m delighted to be joining her at such an exciting time as she continues to establish and grow Social’s presence,” said Turner.
“Alongside current work championing universities and the regeneration of towns through clients in market developments, Business Improvement Districts and construction I hope to use our combined expertise to support schools and colleges across Merseyside, Lancashire, Cumbria and beyond.”
Turner, who was Reach’s first ever Breaking News Editor, becomes Senior Account Manager.
The pair are now working alongside Non-Executive Director, John Flaherty to find a permanent base.
