Social Chain recruits Head of Data and Insights

Manchester’s Social Chain has appointed McVal Osborne as its new Head of Data and Insights.

He joins from business intelligence firm, ORC International, where he was UK Head of Strategy for 3 years.

Prior to that he was VP of Public Relations at St Paul’s Speakers in London, he’s also worked in New York City at The Kairos Society and Washington DC-based Luntz Global.

His role at Social Chain will be to oversee its data team and to further establish its research department.

“Gaining social-first insights has become integral to the decisions that we make and the actions that we take,” he explained.

“The data captured through social media is forever changing how brands operate, both online and offline. Brands want to understand buying behaviour, customer motivations and consumer perception in their target demographic, which means they need access to the right data, quickly.”
