The Times reports that Sky Broadband’s business division, Sky Business (formerly Sky Connect), has joined Nelson-based Daisy Group in the hunt for TalkTalk’s business-to-business arm (TT Business Direct Limited), which is expected to attract a value of around £150m.
Salford-based ISP TalkTalk, under growing pressure from debts, competition, rising costs and limited growth in its residential business, has decided to break its business up and sell parts off to help balance the books.
TalkTalk, home to around 4m UK broadband customers, was previously the subject of a £1.1bn takeover by then-second largest shareholder Toscafund in 2020, which including debt valued it at around £1.8bn. A Mooted £3bn takeover by Virgin media was later scuppered in 2022, believed to be over competition concerns.
The B2B Direct business arm is home to around 80,000 customers, and reports suggest TalkTalks wholesale division may be next on the market.
