Steve November, the former series producer of both Coronation Street and Emmerdale and the executive who has been overseeing the return of Cold Feet, is to leave ITV after 16 years.
November has been the broadcaster’s director of drama since 2013, overseeing hits such as Downton Abbey, Doc Martin and Broadchurch, as well as new commissions including Cilla.
He was the series producer for Coronation Street from 2006 to 2008, and also worked as a series producer for Emmerdale from 2001 until 2004.
He first joined ITV’s commissioning team in 2008 as head of drama series.
Recently he has been involved with the return of Manchester-set Cold Feet and Victoria, which has been filming in locations across the North.
November said: “It has been an honour and a privilege to be involved with ITV drama for 16 years and to have worked with so many great people, from runners to writers, through such exciting times for drama.
“ITV is going through a period of change now which affords me the perfect opportunity to move on to new adventures. I wish ITV drama every success in the future.”
Kevin Lygo, ITV’s recently appointed director of television, said: “His contribution to the success of ITV over many years has been huge and I wish him all the best for the future.”
