Scriba PR’s founder and managing director Katie Mallinson has rejoined the University of Huddersfield, 15 years after she graduated, but this time she’s joining the University Business School Advisory Board.
Mallinson has never entirely cut ties with the university and has returned on occasions to deliver guest lectures, offer her advice via ‘meet the expert’ sessions with budding young entrepreneurs and provide work experience opportunities for students.
She’s employed a number of Huddersfield alumni over the years as the Scriba team has grown, and was added to the institution’s alumni roll of honour when it celebrated its 175th anniversary in 2016.
Now she’s making the links a little more formal, however, and taking a seat on the advisory board.
The uni’s website explains: “Our advisory board is made up of leading industry experts who hold various senior positions within businesses and the public sector. The Advisory Board aims to strengthen our school’s links with industry and professions to provide input into the academic and strategic direction of Huddersfield Business School.”
Mallinson will be one of eight advisory board members. She said: “I am extremely passionate about the business school, and am proud to have graduated from there. From its research prowess and reputation on an international education stage, to the rounded experience and employability of graduating students, this is an outstanding place to learn.
“As the Advisory Board looks to the future of the school and its onward success, I hope I can offer some professional and employer insight that will help the university continually nurture a curriculum that delivers maximum value for students and the business environment alike.”
