Scarborough software developer welcomes three new recruits

Askew Brook

Software and web developer Askew Brook has doubled the size of its Scarborough team to six following increased demand at home and abroad.

The new recruits are: software developer Matthew Provost, who was previously at Livepoint in Liverpool;  front-end developer Dan Ashfield, who has moved from Birmingham; and junior developer Rachel Bender.

Askew Brook has recently secured new contracts with UK/US engineers Unison, FTSE250 company Sirius Minerals and York-based The Plastic Card People.

Managing Director Richard Askew said: “Working with international companies and attracting talent to Scarborough from outside the area as well as using local talent is what we set out to do when we started to company nearly six years ago.

“Our clients have been attracted by our track record and the breadth of support we can provide for them. Our team has a very deep knowledge in everything we do, which shows in the quality of our work.”

Woodend Director Andrew Clay added: “This is hugely welcome news for Woodend and for Scarborough too. Askew Brook are a dedicated and extremely hard-working team who are contributing to the fastest growing sector in the UK economy today.

“The international platform that they have established is very impressive and I know they are going to go from strength to strength. It a pleasure to host them at Woodend and I look forward to meeting their new recruits.”
