ITV News has promoted Ed Saunt to the newly created role of Head of Content.
It means Saunt will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of content across all ITV News platforms, including television, ITVX and digital.
Saunt has been at at ITV News since 2010, initially starting out as a trainee, producing programmes at ITV Granada in Manchester and West Country.
He joined ITN almost 10 years ago most recently working as Senior Programme Editor of the Evening News. He recently spearheaded the expansion of its Evening News to an hour-long programme.
“Ed’s strategic vision and creative leadership have made him an invaluable asset to ITV News. He has consistently brought ambition and innovation to his work, inspiring the teams he manages to achieve remarkable results,” said ITV News editor, Andrew Dagnell.
His new role replaces the Head of Output position as part of a wider ITV News strategy to “prioritise content on equally on all platforms.”
“I am delighted to be appointed to the role of Head of Content. Over the years I have seen for myself just how incredibly talented the ITV News team is, and I look forward to developing our content across all of our platforms as we look ahead to an election year in 2024,” stated Saunt.
He officially takes on the new position next Monday.
