Dave Swanton, who was Head of Media at Sale Sharks for 17 years before exiting last November, says the club no longer want him to attend games.
Swanton is a well-known figure at the club, having originally joined in July 2000, and has also presented a show on BBC Radio Lancashire since 1998.
He tweeted: “Had several messages etc asking why I don’t watch Sharks play live @SaleRugbyNews @SaleSharksRugby. I would like to and have been invited to attend by sponsors.

Prolific North contacted the club for a response and were told: “The club will not be making a comment on this matter at present.”
Swanton’s long tenure at the club saw them crowned English Premiership champions in 2006 and also move from Heywood Road in Sale to Edgeley Park in Stockport and then the AJ Bell Stadium close to the Trafford Centre.
Swanton was replaced as Media Manager by Sam Diamond, who is Director of Rugby Steve Diamond’s son.
