Red Production Company has left its home of almost a decade at MediaCityUK.
Prolific North understands that the company, which is owned by Studio Canal, relocated to Manchester’s Northern Quarter last week.
It’s now based at One Silk Street, the recently redeveloped Colony workspace in Ancoats.
Red is behind high profile dramas including Traces, Harlan Coben’s Stay Close, It’s a Sin and Happy Valley.
The firm is currently led by an interim management team, after Sarah Doole left as CEO in May.
Alex Hamilton, the Chief Executive of StudioCanal UK and Françoise Guyonnet Executive MD of TV Series took temporary charge in June.
Red was founded in 1998 by Nicola Shindler and was based at Granada Television’s Quay Street headquarters until 2013, when it moved to MediaCityUK’s White Tower. Shindler left Red in 2021, to form Quay Street Productions.
“We’ve enjoyed watching the great successes coming out of Red Productions during their time at MediaCity and we wish them the very best in their new home,” said a spokesperson for MediaCityUK.
Prolific North has approached Red for comment.
