Reach is to employ up to 25 new regional journalists, with a number of roles in the North of England.
The publisher said it was to expand its regional coverage through its Live network.
“Our regional newsrooms are successfully giving their online audience more of what they want. Readers are visiting us more often and, when they do, they are more engaged than ever,” said Lloyd Embley, Group Editor-in-Chief of Reach.
“This year we intend to continue strengthening our local teams in line with our customer value strategy, as well as making our newsrooms more representative of the areas they cover.”
The roles include 5 journalists in Manchester, completing the roll-out of the MyBrand publications across the area, including Trafford, Stockport and Rochdale, which follow MyOldham and MyTameside, which launched earlier in the year.
There will be 4 journalists in Liverpool, as Sefton (Southport) and St Helens join the soon-to-be launched, MyWirral.
One journalist will join CheshireLive in Warrington.
