Radio station presenter comes out live on air

Gaydio hosts

As listeners tuned into the Gaydio Breakfast show this morning, breakfast presenter Paris Munro came out to their co-host live on-air.

Paris Munro revealed to their co-host Dave Cooper at Gaydio, a Manchester-based LGBTQ+ radio station, that they are transmasculine non-binary and now uses the pronouns he/she/they.

Paris Munro and Dave Cooper were appointed as new hosts of the breakfast show in October 2021.

Paris (pictured, right) said during the broadcast: “I am coming out on the radio for the very first time as trans-masc non-binary. This is really exciting for me, I go by any and all pronouns. I’m currently taking testosterone and have done for three weeks as prescribed by my doctor. I’m very, very happy and feel free.”

Gaydio Network Content Manager Kriss Herbert told Prolific North: “I feel it’s great that Paris has come to work for Gaydio, and within the first 6 months has felt comfortable to be their true self. We’re pleased we are able to assist and be part of their next stages in their journey. It just goes to show the importance of work places being open and accepting of LGBTQ+ people.”
