BBC Radio 5 live has moved into the real life crime genre with the launch of a new podcast.

Beyond Reasonable Doubt?, which will examine an American court case, is available to download from today.

Chris Warburton will present Beyond Reasonable Doubt?

5 live presenter Chris Warburton will delve into exactly what happened the night American novelist Michael Peterson’s wife Kathleen was found dead at the bottom of the stairs in their North Carolina home in 2001. Was her death a crime or a terrible accident?

Since the initial 911 call, the case has taken a turbulent journey of twists and turns during the past 16 years and explores all the theories around the story, bringing it right up to date with Michael Peterson’s most recent court appearance in March 2017.

5 live’s move into the genre follows the success of the likes of Serial, which stayed at number one in the iTunes charts for several weeks after its launch in 2014.

The Beyond Reasonable Doubt? podcasts can be downloaded from the BBC Radio 5 live website here.
