North Yorkshire vegetarian food specialist Quorn is helping Boris Johnson to soften the blow of departing Downing Street later today by sending a food truck bearing the logo “No More Porkies” to the hallowed street.
Boris Johnson is due to check out of Number 10 today following a leadership marked by dishonesty, and under investigation for misleading parliament. So, in the hours before Johnson’s long-awaited departure, Quorn’s truck served up free pork-free sandwiches from its Deli range to celebrate, hopefully, the end of the PM’s “porkies”. The meatless truck toured Whitehall, Downing Street, Parliament Square and Westminster Bridge.
Stokesly-HQ’d Quorn launches its new Deli range across all major supermarkets this month. The range includes Yorkshire Ham, Roast Chicken, Roast Beef and Finely Sliced Ham. The stunt was organised by London agency Taylor Herring.
Gill Riley, marketing director at Quorn Foods, told vegan economics journal Vegconomist: “With a change of leadership looming, we wanted to celebrate the start of something new and showcase our new delicious vegan Deli range. The sandwiches went down a treat with passers-by!”
