The Guide Liverpool promises a Eurovision content frenzy

The Guide team get the scoop with Eurovision host Rylan

Liverpool what’s on website TheGuideLiverpool.com is aiming to become the voice of the host city in the run-up to the Eurovision Song Contest, promising daily updates, behind the scenes insights and video highlights from the city’s biggest ever party.

The contest attracts a global audience of more than 160million, and The Guide intends to use the spotlight to showcase the best of Liverpool, and presumably bring a few new eyeballs its way in the process.

From Monday, May 1 until the Grand Final on Saturday 13, it promises daily coverage from its team of presenters based in locations around the city centre, backstage interviews from events as artists and Eurovision legends descend on the city,  insights from some of the locals working hard to create the contest and put on the best parties and shows around it and reactions to the unfolding festival of from local and international fans alike.

Acknowledging Liverpool’s hosting on behalf of 2022 winners Ukraine, presenters will also be meeting people from Liverpool’s Ukrainian community to find out more about their experiences.

As one of the city’s fastest-growing media platforms, The Guide has already collaborated with organisations such as Culture Liverpool and Aintree Racecourse to produce exceptional coverage for large-scale events like The Giants, The Grand National and two Liverpool FC Champions League parades.

Founder Jay Hynd says Eurovision could be the biggest party the city has ever seen – and a huge opportunity to positively promote everything it has to offer to a global audience: “We want The Guide’s coverage to be not just a showcase for Eurovision but a showcase for Liverpool,” he said. “We know we’re going to have the eyes of the world on us, so we really want to make the most of that. “This is a crucial time to get people looking at the city, through us, and saying ‘wow, isn’t Liverpool amazing, we need to go and visit’.”

Even before the contest begins, The Guide has already helped to secure a major Eurovision victory – it produced the winning bid video that was used by the city council to seal the deal for Liverpool to host the contest.

Now it hopes to give fans from home and abroad alike unrivalled access to everything that’s happening in the city in the run-up to Eurovision and, of course, when the final is staged at the M&S Bank Arena.

Daily ‘Countdown to the Contest’ video features will share all the latest information as it’s announced, from chatting to the Arena about how preparations are going, to revealing details of the EuroFest cultural programme, while The Guide team also promises not to forget about the things that are always in Liverpool, not just for the contest.
