As the deadline approaches for the Prolific North Marketing Awards, we’ve put together some handy tips to help you write a winning submission.
Now entering its 12th year, these awards celebrate the excellence, creativity and innovation across the marketing industry in the North of England and Scotland, recognising campaigns, companies, teams, leaders and individuals.
More importantly, the awards are an opportunity to showcase your work, reach new audiences and raise your profile. Altrincham-based agency C21, winners of the Best Small Agency award in 2021, explained how winning has paved the way for new clients, credibility and new hires.
“Our success at the PN awards has been great PR and has led us to winning new work as people have approached us from seeing the coverage. It gives the agency credibility which in turn makes it easier to recruit new members of the team,” said Angelo Giaquinto, creative director at C21.
So, to help you have the best chance at crafting a winning entry, here are some of our top tips:
- Select the right categories – From Performance Marketing Agency of the Year to Best Brand Building Campaign, there are 33 categories to pick from that celebrate campaigns, companies, teams and individuals. Take a look at all of the categories for 2024 here and the criteria for each one.
- Now you’ve selected your categories, it’s time to start on your entry. It’s quick and easy to get started by registering on the portal here.
- The judges have lots of submissions to read so tell the judges a story in your submission, make it clear and compelling, highlighting your approach and points of difference. Check out their tips here.
- Results are key – To help your entry stand out, the judges want to see evidence of impact, results or effectiveness. Whether it’s stats, client testimonials or evidence of wider social impact, highlight these clearly.
- Keep it simple – No one likes excessive industry-specific jargon so make sure your entry is simple and clear.
- Include supporting material – Supporting materials such as compelling videos or images can add value and complement your entry. You can select up to five so make sure to keep them concise and relevant.
- Finish with a strong summary – This is crucial as the judges often start here. The summary should provide a clear and engaging overview of the entry including objectives, points of difference and results.
- Submit your entry before the deadline on 22 August.
Once all entries are received, an independent panel of industry experts will come together to score the entries, compile the shortlist, and ultimately decide the winners. From leaders at ITV Studios, Channel 4 to DUSK.com, you can find out more about all of the judges and the process here.
All the winners will then be revealed at a live awards ceremony on 31 October at Manchester United Football Club. Make sure you enter before the deadline on 22 August – good luck!
