Revenue and profits at Manchester United have fallen, according to its latest figures.
This afternoon the club released its financial results for the 2019 fiscal first quarter, which ended 30th September 2018.
Its commercial revenue fell year on year by 5.7% to £75.9m (2017: £80.5m), while sponsorship dropped by 6.8%, to £49.6m. The latter it explained was due to a smaller summer tour.
Retail, merchandising, apparel and product licensing has also fallen.
However, broadcast has increased by 4.9% to £42.8m
“We remain on track to deliver our record full-year revenue guidance, underpinning our long-term, strategic plan to create sustainable growth across all areas of the club,” said Ed Woodward, executive vice chairman in a statement.
In the period, the club announced a global partnership with True Religion, as well as renewing deals with Canon Medical Systems and Deezer Commentary.
