Erin Portsmouth, one of the best-known figures on the North West PR scene, has landed a new senior communications role within the NHS.
CIPR NW chair Portsmouth has been named as the new head of communications and engagement at NHS Chorley and South Ribble Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS Greater Preston CCG.
She previously held the same role at NHS Trafford.
Portsmouth, who started her new job last Monday and is based in Leyland, will report in to joint director of corporate services Mike Barker and joins a 35-strong management team.
Speaking to Prolific North, she said she was attracted by the challenge of the new role.
She said: “Trafford was my first NHS role and so this new position gives me a great opportunity to take what I learned in four and a half years there into a new area.
“It’s definitely more of a challenge politically and a completely different landscape in terms of providers, but one I’m hugely looking forward to.”
Portsmouth worked on the agency side for Fido and Connectpoint before joining the NHS in 2009.
She is in the final year of her three-year term as chair of the CIPR NW Group, but will stay on as immediate past chair following the election of a replacement in March.
