Pixel Kicks, the full-service digital agency, has been appointed to design and create a brand new website for multi-BAFTA-winning independent games studio Ghost Town Games.
Based in Manchester, Ghost Town Games became world renowned for creating Overcooked – a co-op cooking game for one to four players. This was followed by sequels Overcooked 2 and Overcooked All You Can Eat.
Ghost Town Games has not previously had a strong online presence so Pixel Kicks’ focus will be on creating an immersive and interactive experience for its loyal fanbase where they can view and discuss the games. It will also showcase new releases as they are announced. The site is expected to go live in December.
Jamie Bray – commercial lead at Pixel Kicks – said: “Ghost Town Games is a leading light in the UK gaming industry so we want to reflect their innovation, fun and passion through standout design.”
The project follows similar work Pixel Kicks has delivered for other gaming related companies including Marvelous Games, which is the European publishing arm of Marvelous Inc, a publicly listed entertainment company based in Tokyo and Airship Images, a leading game art production studio that specialises in high quality character design for the gaming industry. It has diverse and growing team of talented digital artists and designers who work with global clients including Microsoft Game Studios, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft and Playground Games.
Both Overcooked and its sequel picked up gaming BAFTAs for Ghost Town, while the studio’s writer and business development manager Gemma Langford picked up a breakthrough Brit Award in 2019.
