Pixel Kicks lands digital brief for Johnny Vegas’ sixth-form college

Pixel Kicks has won the brief to deliver digital marketing services for Carmel College in St Helens.

The team will primarily focus on a highly targeted SEO campaign which will run alongside a paid social strategy that will include TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. The agency will also be providing ongoing website support.

The core aim will be to promote Carmel College to potential students and their parents. Content and creatives will be centred around showcasing what the college can offer, from its courses and extracurricular activities to its onsite facilities and community approach. Bespoke campaigns for specific events throughout the year, such as open evenings, will also be devised.

Carmel College, rated as one of the top five Sixth Form Colleges in the country by The Times for last year’s A-Level results, offers a variety of courses, including A Levels, T Levels, BTEC, and Foundation Learning Courses. The college’s ethos is deeply rooted in being an integral part of the local community, emphasising ‘excellence’, ‘support’, ‘challenge’, ‘care’, and ‘opportunity’ in all its endeavours. Notable alumni include comedian and actor Jonny Vegas, Jacqui Abbott from The Beautiful South, and Great Britain and England international rugby league player, Paul Wellens.

This is another key education win for Pixel Kicks as it continues to grow its reach in the sector. One of the agency’s principal clients is UA92 which was co-founded by Lancaster University and members of the Class of ’92, the Manchester United football players who won the 1992 FA Youth Cup, including Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt. It delivers degrees that are designed to accelerate careers in the worlds of media, business, sport and digital. Pixel Kicks has worked with UA92 since 2021. In that time, it has created and maintained a highly responsive, UX inspired website that caters for all content requirements, whilst allowing for a seamless user journey.

Jamie Bray, commercial lead at Pixel Kicks, said: “We are delighted to announce our new collaboration with Carmel College. We have some fantastic experience in the sector, and we will be using our collective skills and insights to deliver a highly engaging and targeted campaign for them.”

Andrew Thelwell, marketing manager at Carmel College, added: “We have seen the work that Pixel Kicks has done for the likes of UA92, so we knew they had a great mix of creative and strategic thinking. This shone through during the pitch process, and I am confident their expertise will help us reach out and really communicate what Carmel College is all about.”
